Morgan Sports Law successfully acts for Bruno Cavalheiro Rebello in FEI anti-doping proceedings.

Summary

In October 2019, Mr Rebello competed in the CSI2* in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, riding his horse, Chabello. A sample taken from Chabello returned a positive finding for Ractopamine – a substance on the FEI Prohibited Substances List.

Consequently, on 2 December 2019, Mr Rebello was provisionally suspended by the FEI for breach of the Equine Anti-Doping Rules (“EAD Rules”).

Further to the evidence presented on behalf of Mr Rebello, the FEI and FEI Tribunal have accepted that Mr Rebello bore no fault or negligence for the EAD Rule violation and that he will not serve any period of ineligibility. Mr Rebello is therefore free to compete with immediate effect (and has been since 3 February 2020, when his provisional suspension was first lifted).

Emma Waters of Morgan Sports Law represented Mr Rebello.
