Dayana Yastremska exonerated
On 24 November 2020, Ms Yastremska provided a doping control sample, which tested positive for trace amounts of a banned substance. The International Tennis Federation (“ITF”) charged Ms Yastremska with an anti-doping rule violation and provisionally suspended her from competing for a breach of the ITF Anti-Doping Rules.
Ms Yastremska instructed Morgan Sports Law to represent her in the ensuing proceedings.
Following a hearing, and by decision of 21 June 2021, the Independent Tribunal of the ITF accepted that the asserted anti-doping rule violation was inadvertent, and that Ms Yastremska acted without fault or negligence. Accordingly, the Tribunal held that no sanction would be imposed on Ms Yastremska, and that she is therefore free to compete with immediate effect.
Mike Morgan, Tom Seamer and Richard Martin acted for Ms Yastremska.
