Predrag Vujovic Wins CAS Appeal
Mr Predrag Vujovic played for the Uzbek football club Andijon Professional Futbol Klubi (“Andijon 1.0”) until 30 November 2015. On 24 January 2017, Mr Vujovic filed a claim for overdue payables corresponding to 6 months of salaries against Andijon 1.0. The FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (“DRC”) upheld Mr Vujovic’s claim.
However, Andijon 1.0 went into liquidation before making any payment to Mr Vujovic. Mr Vujovic therefore sought payment from the Andijon Futbol Sport PFK (the sporting successor of Andijon Professional Futbol Klubi) (“Andijon 2.0”).
On 15 October 2019, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee (“DC”) dismissed the claim by Mr Vujovic to enforce the DRC decision against the Andijon 2.0.
In February 2020, Mr Vujovic initiated his appeal before the CAS, challenging the DC decision.
In December 2020, the CAS partially upheld the appeal of Mr Vujovic and referred the matter back to the DC so that the disciplinary proceedings against Andijon 2.0 could resume.
