Tyson and Hughie free to resume their careers
Morgan Sports Law acts for British heavyweight boxers Tyson Fury and Hughie Fury (“the Boxers”) in the resolution of anti-doping proceedings brought by UK Anti-Doping (“UKAD”).
Summary
In June 2016, UKAD charged the Boxers based on reported elevated levels of nandrolone metabolites in urine samples provided after their respective fights in February 2015. Tyson Fury, a former heavyweight World Champion, was also charged – separately – based on his alleged failure to provide a sample in September 2016.
The Boxers have always maintained that they have never knowingly or deliberately committed any anti-doping rule violation. The long-running dispute concluded on 12 December 2017 with a settlement between the Boxers and UKAD, further to which the anti-doping proceedings were brought to an end and which allowed the Boxers to resume their careers with immediate effect.
Mike Morgan, Richard Martin, and Henry Goldschmidt acted for the Boxers.
