ANTI-CORRUPTION STATEMENT

 

We have a no tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption. We:

 

  • conduct our business with the highest ethical standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws to prevent bribery and corruption
  • use our best endeavours to ensure our staff members, counsel and agents share our commitment to conduct business in an ethical manner.

 

We are subject to the UK Bribery Act 2010. Morgan Sports Law expects all third parties and intermediaries to conduct themselves in accordance with all anti-bribery laws, regulations and initiatives and expect employees to report instances or allegations of any suspected policy violations.

 

ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING POLICY

 

Our firm conducts client due diligence enquiries on each new client and persons connected with them. We also conduct ongoing monitoring. This is based on FAFT Recommendations and the EU Fourth Money Laundering Directive. For these purposes, where necessary, we may seek relevant information from third party data suppliers. Where individuals supply personal data for this purpose we will only use it in connection with that purpose and only retain it for as long as relevant AML, data protection legislation and GDPR regulations require. We also provide our staff members with relevant training and have internal procedures to ensure that any suspicions of money laundering are reported to the relevant authority where necessary.

 

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

 

Morgan Sports Law is committed to providing the highest standards to its clients and in all its business dealings. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we have provided then you should inform us immediately, so that we can do our best to resolve the problem.

 

In the first instance it may be helpful to contact the person who is working on your case to discuss your concerns and we will do our best to resolve any issues at this stage. If you would like to make a formal complaint, then please raise your concern in writing to the Practice Manager, Lizzie Osborne at lizzie.osborne@morgansl.com. We endeavour to respond to all concerns raised within 72 hours or as soon as possible.  Making a complaint will not affect how we handle your case.

 

The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help you if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic.

 

You can raise your concerns with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

 

What to do if we cannot resolve your complaint

 

The Legal Ombudsman can help you if we are unable to resolve your complaint ourselves. They will look at your complaint independently and it will not affect how we handle your case.

 

Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with us first. If you have, then you must take your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman:

 

  • Within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint

and

  • No more than six years from the date of act/omission; or
  • No more than three years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.

Our professional indemnity insurance is held with Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited whose registered address is 2 Minster Court, Mincing Lane, 1st Floor, London EC3R 7BB. Details of the territorial coverage of the policy are available for inspection at our offices or upon request.
