Jonathan Caruana Succeeds in CAS Appeal
News

Morgan Sports Law acts for Maltese footballer, Mr Jonathan Caruana, in his successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (“CAS”) against a four-year ban imposed on him by the National Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel of Malta (the “NADP”).

Summary

In April 2017, Mr Caruana was provisionally suspended from competition after being notified that Ostarine (a Prohibited Substance) had been detected in a doping control sample provided in March 2017.

The NADP imposed a four-year ban on Mr Caruana, following which Mr Caruana instructed Morgan Sports Law to represent him in his appeal to CAS.

Mr Caruana’s suspension was subsequently reduced to six months, backdated to April 2017.  Accordingly, Mr Caruana is free to resume his football career with immediate effect.

Mike Morgan, Donna Bartley and Tom Seamer of Morgan Sports Law acted for Mr Caruana.
